Congratulations on your assignment to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia located aboard the Naval Support Activity Norfolk adjacent to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Allied Transformation Command. The MARFORCOM staff is comprised of Marines, Sailors, Civilian Marines, Technical Representatives and Civilian Contractors (PowerPoint listing of Staff Principals located at this site).  MARFORCOM provides a robust, U.S. Marine Corps presence in Norfolk, Virginia. The Headquarters’ proximity to the Joint Staff J31, Joint and Coalition Warfare Center and the Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces (COMUSFF), enables the Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command (COMMARFORCOM) to conduct authoritative day-to-day liaison for both operational and programmatic issues as well as become engaged in joint force provider, joint training, and conduct Naval integrations.

CHECKING IN:

MARFORCOM & HQSVCBN MARINES

You will report to MARFORCOM, AC/S G-1, for your reporting endorsement, at

1775 Forrestal Drive, Norfolk VA., 23551-2400 during normal working hours (0730-1630)

and after normal hours you will report to Command Operations Center (COC) for a stamp

of your arrival time and date. Commercial Phone: 757-836-1644. 

In case of emergency, after hours, or weekends, the Officer of the Day can be reached at

Phase 1: Prior to your arrival

 

Sponsor

After the first week or so in receiving your web orders/MROWS orders, you

should have received information from your sponsor. If you were not

appointed a sponsor, ensure that you have a sponsor appointed to you by your

new command. Your sponsor should formally introduce themselves. Also, your

sponsor should give you information about your new command such as the

mission, a detailed description about your new chain of command, and a

detail description about your position in the workplace.

 

Phase 2: Check-in Day

 

Documents

Please ensure to bring important documents such your web/MROWS orders,

medical records and dental records.

UNIFORM OF THE DAY AND DAILY ROUTINE

MARFORCOM follows the guidance published in ALMAR 007/08 regarding the appropriate MARPAT MARINE CORPS COMBAT UTILITY UNIFORM (MCCUU) uniform of the day. Although your work section will set your actual working hours, the normal working hours for MARFORCOM are 0730 – 1630.

NIPR/SIPR USER ACCOUNT MIGRATION/CREATION

In order to access IT services and email from MARFORCOM systems your account will need to be either created or migrated. While this process typically
takes 1-3 weeks to complete (longer wait times possible during high request volume), MARFORCOM G-6 would like to assist you with beginning the process
as soon as possible. In order to have the account migration/creation
completed the following requirements must be met:

NIPR ACCOUNTS:

1. Cyber Awareness Course Completion Certificate - The course can be completed at https://www.marinenet.usmc.mil/MarineNet/Courses/Catalog.aspx
Civilians with a CAC the course can be completed on DISA's public access site https://public.cyber.mil/training/cyber-awareness-challenge/  Upon completion of the course save the certificate.

 

2. Complete DD2875 SAAR - can be downloaded from https://www.marforcom.marines.mil/Portals/36/Documents/SYSTEM%20AUTHORIZATION%20ACCESS%20REQUEST%20(%20SAAR%20 and digitally signed using your CAC. For Civilians without a CAC, the form can be completed, printed out,
signed manually, and scanned back in to your computer. To properly complete the SAAR form all sections must be filled out up to Box 13. If you are not sure how to complete one or more fields it is recommended to contact your sponsor at MARFORCOM.

 

3. After completing the SAAR form, email it and the Cyber Awareness Course Completion Certificate it to: SMB_MARFORCOM_HelpDesk.fct@usmc.mil cc'ing your MARFORCOM sponsor.

 

SIPR ACCOUNTS:

1. Derivative Classification Course Completion Certificate - The course can be completed at https://securityawareness.usalearning.gov/derivative/  .
Upon completion of the course save the certificate.

 

2. Complete DD2875 SAAR - A separate submission is required specifying access to SIPR. The same DD2875 SAAR form will be used for this request

ENLISTED BILLETING

 Bachelor enlisted quarters are located aboard Camp Elmore, Norfolk, Virginia. Troops live in  quarters with A/C, heating, common entertainment and relaxation areas. Each room is designed for two occupants and has a private bath. For those without a personal conveyance, the Barracks Duty NCO and ADNCO (Cell:757-630-9329 Land line: 757-444-8562) will provide enlisted personnel with a ride to/from the barracks and MARFORCOM.
