U.S. Marines with FMFLANT, MARFORCOM, MARFOR NORTHCOM participated in the baseball game to represent the Marine Corps presence in Naval Station Norfolk, the biggest naval base in the world. Due to the military being an integral part of the Hampton Roads community, the Norfolk Tides hosts several military appreciation nights and military themed seasons in honor of the U.S. Armed Forces.
