Kelliher III, Deputy Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Deputy Commander, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command, right, host a "Hail and Farewell" ceremony at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Virginia, June 2, 2023. During the ceremony, Cavanaugh and leadership across MARFORCOM welcomed newly-arrived Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines to the command and celebrated the accomplishments and contributions of soon-to-depart members. The Marine Corps tradition known as Hail and Farewell is a semi-annual gathering to celebrate the arrival of new personnel to units and the departure of those who are assigned to new units elsewhere.
