Marines learn survival skills during an Improvised Explosive Device training exercise as part of the Mountain Warfare Training exercise in Bridgeport, Calif, Aug. 19-Sept. 9, 2017. Mountain Warfare Training is a field exercise designed to teach Marines fighting tactics and survival skills in high altitudes and cold weather. Marines conduct a basic demolition range to maintain proficiency in building and setting off explosives at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 15, 2017. During the range, combat engineers set off Bangalore torpedoes, M18A1 Claymore mines and a 40 pound cratering charge.
