Marines with Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, took aim down range during a weapons zeroing exercise at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 3, 2015. The Marines used the training as an opportunity to increase their weapons proficiency before deploying with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Marines with Scout Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment completed a two-week Basic Scout Sniper Course Preparation Course aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 13-24, 2015. The training was to evaluate and introduce the Marines to what type of training they will go through in order to become a scout sniper.

Marines with Scout Sniper Platoon, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, conducted a live-fire training exercise at SR-8, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 6, 2015. The Marines fired the M249 squad automatic weapon, M240B machine gun, M40A5 bolt-action sniper rifle, and the M110 semi-automatic sniper rifle. The training was conducted to show Marines new to the platoon, the importance of employing the different weapon systems together to gain maximum effectiveness and to teach new Marines how to use the different weapons effectively.
