SCHOOLS
To enroll your children in school, you must have their proof of immunization. Children entering Kindergarten through seventh grade must:
- Submit the child’s birth certificate
- Have had a complete physical examination within the past year
- Be age five on or before 30 September of the enrollment year.
|
It is recommended that you take action on these requirements well before enrolling your child. If your child is in Special Education or has developmental disabilities, have copies of your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and any partial or completed evaluative testing performed by previous schools.
Some Hampton Roads area schools require that children rent or purchase their textbooks. The rental amount varies by school district or grade and must be paid upon enrollment. The rental fees usually range between $10 and $35 per year, per student.

VIRGINIA E-Z PASS
Several of the bridges, tunnels, and expressways in the Hampton Roads area enforce toll collection. Currently, tolls are being collected at the Mid-town and Downtown Tunnels, the Jordan Bridge, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the 168 By-Pass and, when construction is complete, the Dominion Blvd. Bridge. While the 168 By-Pass and Chesapeake Bay Bridge allow motorists to pay tolls with cash, the other tunnels and bridges utilize an all-electronic means of toll collection. Motorists at these locations may pay by plate number or through the use of the E-Z Pass System. Note that paying by plate number will incur an additional processing fee. The following links will assist in answering any further questions and will provide instructions on how to obtain an E-Z Pass if desired: https://www.ezpassva.com/
